HPC SCHEDULE and INFORMATION
1. The HPC was awarded the Leadership Award for
Community Action from the Silver City-Grant County Chamber of Commerce on
April 9, 2007. What an honor!
2. The HPC has built a vendor wagon called the ‘Hurley Pride
Pantry’. Again, all proceeds will benefit the community of Hurley. We will
sell popcorn, sno-cones, nachos, drinks, etc at various county events as
well as offering these things to the locals and children, especially during
the summer. A ribbon cutting ceremony is being scheduled with the SC-GC Chamber.
3. We are currently holding a raffle (tickets are $2) and
the winner will push the Ceremonial plunger to bring down the stacks. The
date is still to be determined. This is done with the permission of Phelps
Dodge/Chino Mines Co., and the Town of Hurley. All proceeds will benefit
the HPC and the community. Great fan-fare will surround the drawing of the
winning ticket. We are not celebrating the event, just taking this opportunity
to help the community.
4. We are selling T-shirts, caps, mugs, license plates, shot
glasses and lapel pins with our logo on it. Our logo represents the HPC,
our efforts for the community and our pride in Hurley. If it doesn’t show
our logo, it isn’t supporting the community.
5. On Sat., May 12, at 4 pm a group historical photo
will be taken. Anyone that lives in Hurley, or has worked or lived here is
invited and encouraged to participate. Photo will be displayed at the Town
Hall and at the Museum at the JW Gallery/Old Hurley Store. Reprints will
be for sale soon and can be ordered in a number of sizes. Again, to benefit
the HPC and community.
6. The HPC is compiling a Hurley Cook Book with recipes from
locals that will make a great gift or keepsake. Deadline is Monday, Apr.
30 and recipes should be turned in to Town Hall. They should include name
and phone number and be clearly typed or printed. They should sell for less
than $12 each.

____________________________________________________
Our continuing goal is to add more to our Christmas Lights
by installing meter loops and new decorations.
{The loops cost avg. $800 ea.} We are always looking for ways to beautify
the town and support the Town of Hurley, Hurley Elementary, local churches,
organizations and activities and provide events for our local residents.
I would like to stress our mission . . . We are a non-profit
organization promoting civic pride and community participation. If you purchase
items with our logo on it, you are showing your support for the community.
All proceeds go back into the community through our efforts to enhance and
improve the quality of life here. We have achieved so many good things and
there’s more to come. For information regarding the Hurley Pride projects,
please call 505-537-2124
