| 9:00 - 9:30 View an introduction to printmaking video which will give you an overview of the entire process of printmaking and the basics to getting started. |
| 9:30 - 12:00 After familiarization with the materials needed to begin printmaking, you will be assigned a workspace, a plexiglass plate, ink, brushes and tools needed to create your art. As each individual completes a piece, the instructor will place it on the press and complete the printing process. Each piece is then set aside to dry. Finished pieces may be taken home at the end of the day. |
| 12:00-12:30 Lunch |
| 12:30 - 1:00 - A short review of finished pieces including suggestions on technique and other methods of printing. Your instructor will be available at all times to answer questions etc. |
| 1:00 - 4:00 - Continue printmaking. |
| 4:00-4:30 Easy clean-up session: Note: we do not use mineral spirits in the cleanup process. We supply Simple Green (an everyday household cleaning product) & baby oil.. |
PRINTMAKING PAPER
| Purchase sheets of printmaking paper not larger than 22 x 30. Plexiglass plates are provided in a variety of sizes, so your image may be created to fit a full sheet of paper or the sheets may be divided to fit the size of the plate you have chosen. |
| Where to get your printmaking paper:
Most art supply stores carry printmaking paper, call for availability and pricing. If printmaking paper is not readily available, we suggest calling Daniel Smith Artist's Materials (800-426-6740) or a visit to their website: http://www.danielsmith.com. The following printmaking papers are available onsite for those who attend our workshops. |
